Why:
There are 10 types of people in this world, those who get this joke and those who don’t… The divide gets wider every day.
The only difference between a user and a tech is that the tech isn’t afraid to break it. Whether its a car or a computer or a kitchen renovation or the company’s books, a geek (in whatever field) just knows more than you and when a problem arises in their area of expertise they aren’t afraid to troubleshoot through to a resolution. Everyone speaks a “language.” Whatever job you have or interest you explore it comes with its own set of terms, acronyms, and theory. If you are a pilot you talk about lift, drag, and ailerons. If you are a detective you have perps, brass, and CTD’s. We computer geeks just have a language that can change as often as a few months or use techniques that have been around since the “Trash 80″.
What:
You speak your language– I’ll speak mine– you help me when I need your discipline and I’ll be here to help you. This website is/will be a place for me to explain the things I do day in and day out. If I see that my users are having trouble with a piece of tech I’ll write it up to alleviate some frustration– for both of us.
