Build a Better Web Presence (2 of 2)
The easiest thing is to do a google search for affiliate programs and put ads on your blog. When you sign up you’ll be given the html code to add to your sidebar or into you posts and every time someone clicks through or buys a product you have the potential to make money. A guy I know says he pays his dry cleaning bill with the money he makes from Google’s AdSense each month.
Train yourself to see potential. The best place to start is by reading Seth Godins blog on marketing. Seth is hailed as a marketing genius and a lot of people pay him a lot of money to tell them how to change their businesses for the better.
Turn off the radio and start listening to podcasts. Podcasts are little homemade radio or TV shows made by people interested in a certain subject. You get to them using iTunes software in the iTunes Store (or other Podcast aggrigators) (Don’t worry they are free) Listen to as many as you can find in your field. Install iTunes, (uncheck the two boxes and you don’t have to fill in your email). Once your in the iTunes store do a search for what interests you. I suggest listening to everything at least a couple of times. Some presenters have a very dry or plain delivery but don’t let that distract you from the content. Do searches on multiple items. If your into screen printing then listen to a podcast on design. If your running your own computer parts store listen to a couple of podcasts on accounting. Get well rounded. Use your time to focus on your business. While listening, you’ll be surprised how your mind will start to wander into other possibilities for growth or alternative revenue streams. The only thing you’ll get listening to the radio or watching TV is distracted from your goals.
