    Another good spam blocker is SpamAssassin (Open Source), though it’s mainly for ISP/Corporate servers. I found it cut my incoming spam from 1000 a day to about 10 emails (990 being junk mail).

    I also have something else that checks with the domain it says it is from to confirm the email was really sent by someone from that domain.

    Your guess is as good as mine. I don’t use any software spam blockers. Astaro has a free home version of their server software but it requires you to set up a pc as a server for it on your network. I hear they are awesome and I would love to set one up if I had the time.

    However, my defense is a good offense. I don’t post my email address on the web, I use contact forms. I don’t click on links in emails or web ads that I don’t trust. And, I don’t sign up for free offers or rebates.

    K9 is the best web filter, espesially when used in conjunction with OpenDNS.
